Tamera Sweeton, LPC, LMFT Tamera is a professional psychotherapist, registered by the state
of Missouri as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and by the state
of Kansas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist (LMFT).
In 2007, Tamera founded Heartlight Counseling, a
Kansas City-based counseling practice that worked with individuals challenged by
stress, depression and dysfunctional relationships. Her signature approach to
therapy relies on the power within each individual to accomplish their goals.
Tamera utilizes an integrative approach in
providing her services, and has deep experience in multiple counseling
modalities - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy,
Psycho-analytical, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, etc. She uses a CBT model as
a base for her counseling, which helps individuals to overcome their struggles
by changing their thinking, behavior and emotional responses to evoke their
inner power for life-long solutions.
Tamera has also worked with numerous Fortune 50
leaders to help them to align their passion with their work, while defining an
optimal work/life balance.
